We're days away from EOFY!

The last few months have certainly been a whirlwind of events with the coronavirus pandemic. It's been labelled the biggest global crisis for three generations. It's also hard to believe were just days away from the End of Financial Year.

At this time of year it’s important you to take some time out and check on the year's paperwork before June 30. Owning an investment property does have its advantages and if you know what to claim, tax time can be very rewarding... All owners who have a property managed by Your Haven Realty will receive their Income & Expenditure reports in the first week of July, this will provide your accountant with all the information they need re: your investment property.

On the subject of tax, experts have warned not to file returns to soon, it's likely many will be reliant on receiving a refund this year more then ever. Some important facts to note: Some information needed to file your tax return won't actually be available until mid July - IE: Private health statements, dividend notices and PAYG summaries. For those who have been working from home during COVID-19 you can also use the shortcut method of claiming 80 cents per hour between 1st March to 30th June.

Market update:

June 2020 has been a great month for the team, we rented 8 properties, put 3 under contract and sold 2. One of which we sold to a Reds & Wallabies Rugby player. Some great results considering our March & April figures during the peak of the pandemic.

We have a lovely 2 bed, 2 bath apartment coming to the market in the first week of July. It's located in Sherwood within a modern apartment complex that's within walking distance to St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School. The apartment is noted in the green box of the image.

In other news:

We're turning 3 in August, how fast did that come around. Now that pubs / cafes have reopened we're planning to have our third birthday party in August, keep an eye on our events page to RSVP.

Brisbane's newest Inner City State Secondary School is well underway with construction and just last week they published the web link to the new school.

We've already noticed the demand for properties in the catchment zone and as the school gets closer to opening prices will surely rise. The school looks very impressive, here's a link to all you need to know Inner City South State Secondary College.
